Bowling For Soup w/ Special Guests Mest & Authority Zero Wed . Sep 6 , 2023 DOORS: 7 PM / SHOW: 8 PM $29.50 ADV | $35 DOS With their thirty year anniversary as a band on the horizon in 2024, Texas’ favourite punk rock export Bowling For Soup continue to grow their global fanbase and expand their success year on year. Also dubbed the crown princes of pop punk, Bowling For Soup – frontman and guitarist Jaret Reddick, fellow guitarist Chris Burney, drummer Gary Wiseman and bassist Rob Felicetti have proved that nothing, not even a global pandemic, has slowed the demand for their unique, humour filled live shows and upbeat, heartfelt anthems. Songs such as High School Never Ends, Punk Rock 101, 1985 and of course the Grammy nominated Girl All The Bad Guys Want resonate as much today as when they were written and are proving extremely popular in the modern streaming world. Their 2022 album, Pop Drunk Snot Bread, a play on the cultural reference “pop punk’s not dead”, was heralded by fans and critics alike as the band’s best release in fifteen years. Millions of streams and YouTube views for songs like Getting Old Sucks (But Everybody’s Doing It), I Wanna Be Brad Pitt and the global smash Alexa Bliss (dedicated to WWE’s own multi-time world wrestling women’s champion) show that Bowling For Soup can still run rings (and riffs) around their younger contemporaries. The album also features songs like The Best We Can, Wouldn’t Change A Thing and the positive mental health anthem Hello Anxiety, where Bowling For Soup show they can do both serious and reflective, with a BFS heart at the core. It’s a testament to the bands’ enduring appeal and a fanbase that continues to grow day after day – evidenced by their 100 million streams on Spotify in the year 2020 alone. Finding their niche back in the 1990’s would be tough when the musical climate was in serious shift. “We were just the stereotypical, small town guys with nothing else to do – starting a band to keep ourselves out of trouble” recalls frontman Jaret Reddick looking back. There was certainly no trend to follow, every other band seemed to be genre jumping to try and catch “the next big thing” without knowing what “the next big thing was”, leaving the members of Bowling For Soup with no option to just go out and have fun. Brought up on a heady diet of 80’s John Hughes Movies, LA Hair Metal, Steve Martin comedy routines (which spawned the band’s name) and hook laden punk rock, BFS hit the ground running on the simple blueprint – have a good time and pretty soon, everyone else will join in! Bowling For Soup are a band who’ve proven time and again that they can move with the times throughout a period of turbulence for the music industry. From their DIY roots, through to being on a major record label for many years (Jive Records) and being very successfully independent with their own label for over a decade, they are a band who’ve found success in every way. ‘We’re in control of everything now. If we decide we wanna do something, we just do it – we don’t need to ask anyone’s permission. It also makes you feel super proud when you do something yourself and it’s a success’, reveals Reddick. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, Bowling For Soup were playing to the biggest crowds of their career. Over 20,000 people witnessed their sold out 2020 UK tour with Simple Plan and they’ve sold out arenas alongside Steel Panther. Headline appearances at recent editions of UK festivals like Slam Dunk and Reading and Leeds have gone down a storm. At Reading Festival 2019 the crowd overflowed out of the stage with fans peering for a glimpse of “BFS”, while their appearances at the final editions of the US Vans Warped Tour brought enormous crowds to every show, no matter what time of day the band were performing. With the world experiencing live music again following COVID in 2022, Bowling For Soup’s enduring live appeal saw fans return in droves for huge tours in both the UK and US, many making a “BFS” show their first taste of live music since the pandemic. Whether it was huge theatre shows with Lit and The Dollyrots (UK), Less Than Jake and The Aquabats (US) or the sold out UK singalong with Jaret and Rob acoustic tour, the demand to see Bowling For Soup live in the flesh is bigger than it ever has been. 2023 sees the band return to play festivals and shows in mainland Europe for the first time in many years, alongside huge slots at the UK Slam Dunk Festival, while multiple US tours are in the pipeline. A Second chapter of their greatest hits, Songs People Actually Like Volume 2, is due to land late this Summer. Frontman Jaret Ray Reddick is also enjoying new adventures with his journey in the world of Red Dirt Country Music with his debut solo album Just Woke Up. While the music industry and the world at large is ever evolving, Bowling For Soup have prided themselves on moving with the times, keeping up with the latest ways to stay in touch with their fans (Jaret is now a huge star on TikTok) and get their music out there to as many people as possible. For generations of fans, there has always been a Bowling For Soup song for every occasion. They’re the band who make you smile and they’re the band who will pick you up when you are down, and as their song says, they wouldn’t change a thing.

Yo La Tengo - This Stupid World Tour, DOORS: 7 PM / SHOW: 8 PM $30 ADV | $35 Day-of-Show - Time keeps moving and things keep changing, but that doesn’t mean we can’t fight back. Yo La Tengo have raced time for nearly four decades and, to my ears, they just keep winning. The trio’s latest victory is called This Stupid World, a spellbinding set of reflective songs that resist the ever-ticking clock. This is music that’s not so much timeless as time-defiant. “I want to fall out of time,” Ira Kaplan sings in “Fallout.” “Reach back, unwind.”   Part of how Kaplan, Georgia Hubley, and James McNew escape time is by watching it pass, even accepting it when they must. “I see clearly how it ends / I see the moon rise as the sun descends,” they sing during opener “Sinatra Drive Breakdown.” In the séance-like “Until it Happens,” Kaplan plainly intones, “Prepare to die / Prepare yourself while there’s still time.” But This Stupid World is also filled with calls to reject time – bide it, ignore it, waste it. “Stay alive,” he adds later in the same song. “Look away from the hands of time.”   Of course, times have changed for Yo La Tengo as much as they have for everyone else. In the past, the band has often worked with outside producers and mixers. Yo La Tengo made This Stupid World all by themselves, though. And their time-tested judgment is both sturdy enough to keep things to the band’s high standards, and nimble enough to make things new.    Another new thing about This Stupid World: it’s the most live-sounding Yo La Tengo album in a while. At the base of nearly every track is the trio playing all at once, giving everything a right-now feel. Take the signature combination of hypnotic rhythm and spontaneous guitar on “Sinatra Drive Breakdown,” or the steady chug of “Tonight’s Episode,” a blinkered tunnel of forward-moving sound. There’s an immediacy to the music, as if the distance between the first pass and the final product has been made a touch more direct.    The songs on This Stupid World were still journeys, though. An example is the absorbing, three-dimensional “Brain Capers.” To construct this swirl, the band blends guitar chords, bass loops, drum punches, and various iterations of Hubley and Kaplan’s voices into shifting layers. Simpler but just as dense is closer “Miles Away.” A dubby rhythm lurks below Hubley’s vocal, which brushes across the song like paint leaving bright blurs. Throughout the album, these touches, accents, and surprises intensify each piece. It’s a rarity – a raw-sounding record that gives you plenty of headphone-worthy detail to chew on.   This Stupid World gives your brain a lot to digest, too. All the battles with time drive toward some heavy conclusions. In the gripping “Aselestine,” Hubley sings about what sounds like a friend on death’s door: “The clock won’t tick / I can’t predict / I can’t sell your books, though you asked me to.” In “Apology Letter,” time turns simple communication into something fraught and confusing: “The words / Derail on the way from me to you.” Not everything is so serious, though. The absurdist “Tonight’s Episode” helps McNew learn to milk cows, steal faces, and treat guacamole as a verb. And somehow Alice Cooper, Ray Davies, and Rick Moranis show up in “Brain Capers,” all telling us time isn’t finished yet.   So I guess everyone on This Stupid World grapples with how time keeps steamrolling and how we keep trying to do something about it. It’s there in the title, a weary but clear-eyed pejorative that suggests determined resignation, a will to fight despite the grim odds. It’s there in the title track too: “This stupid world – it’s killing me / This stupid world – is all we have.” Such realism leads to the resolute optimism of This Stupid World’s parting shot, “Miles Away,” which sees time’s passage and life’s impermanence as things to deal with rather than reasons to despair. “You feel alone / Friends are all gone,” Hubley prays softly. “Keep wiping the dust from your eyes.”   Marc Masters

Deer Tick w/ Special Guests Country Westerns - The best art often challenges widely held preconceptions about performance and beauty. We’re moved when we find the sublime in the gross, entranced when crassness collides with grace. It makes poetic sense that one of this practice’s finest current purveyors is named after a blood-sucking survivor.   Deer Tick: undercutting expectations since 2004.   “I think a lot of my favorite artists have always done stuff like that,” Deer Tick front man John McCauley says from his home in Nashville, reflecting on his band’s love of unexpected mashups: tender lyrics layered over pissed off guitars; classical music flourishes delivered nearly naked and high. Deer Tick’s perfected it all, mostly as an outlier, revered by a legion of fans, respected by peers, but not part of any one scene. With their highly anticipated new project(s), two new albums released simultaneously titled Deer Tick Vol. 1 and Deer Tick Vol. 2, the crew from Rhode Island prove that their punk-roots rock has only gotten better with age.   Ambitious and smart, the twin albums complement one another but also stand independently. Vol. 1 is classic Deer Tick: folk-rooted acoustic guitars and soft piano cushion out-front vocals. Vol. 2 commits wholly to the band’s longtime garage-rock flirtations for a triumphant foray into punk.   McCauley sees the two records as a natural progression. “I think it’s something that was bound to happen, just because I’ve always had one foot in each door,” he says. “Every album we’ve put out has had its manic moments in one way or another. I felt good enough about everything that I was writing to think that we could truly separate our two big interests: quiet and loud.”   It’s been six years since Deer Tick’s last release Negativity, and devotees have grown restless. It wasn’t that the band—made up of McCauley, guitarist Ian O’Neil, drummer Dennis Ryan, and bassist Christopher Ryan—was withholding information. They just weren’t sure they had anything more to share. “It wasn’t anything that we actually talked about,” McCauley says. “We never said, ‘Hey, we should take a break,’ or ‘Maybe this isn’t working anymore.’ We just took some time off. We’d just done our 10-year anniversary shows, and I had a kid like two weeks later.” He pauses before adding with a hint of a laugh, “We just kind of got comfortable away from each other.”   McCauley, O’Neil, and the two Ryans popped up solo and on others’ projects. Personal lives also underwent massive changes, especially for McCauley, who married Vanessa Carlton and became a dad. The couple’s little girl is now two years old. For the first time ever, Deer Tick—an all-consuming band known for constant touring and steady artistic output—took a backseat.   When the band came back together for their beloved after-party shows at the Newport Folk Festival, the reunion reminded them what they missed about creating with one another. “Playing that week with the guys made me really want to do it—it made everyone want to do it,” McCauley says. “So we started making some plans to go in the studio.”   The result, recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, is a bold double punch that reminds us not only why Deer Tick has been so missed, but why they’ve become important artists. The songwriting on both volumes is masterful. McCauley wrote most of the tunes alone, but O’Neil and Dennis Ryan also make killer contributions. Self-aware and never self-important, McCauley excels at provocative lyrics that are sometimes confessional, sometimes accusatory. His compositions capture those internal contradictions that define us, like rock-and-roll “songs of myself” delighting in the multitudes and putting them on display.   Vol. 1 opener “Sea of Clouds” is a dreamy mediation on letting go, featuring stripped down instrumentation that swells into a mini-symphony, all anchored by angelic harmonies and McCauley’s familiar melodic snarl. It’s not the only time McCauley mulls over what it takes to move on. Heart-tugging “Only Love” mixes sadness and hope for a snapshot of impending loss. “I thought, ‘Nobody writes a song about that kind of weird, ominous feeling you get in the final 24 to 48 hours of a relationship,’” McCauley says. “I wanted to capture that mood in a song.”   Sauntering “Card House” is a flamenco-soaked threat with grotesque imagery, while lounge-ready “Cocktail” is a wry, piano-fueled stroll through fond boozy memories. “I guess it’s kind of a song about my strange relationship with alcohol—I’m still learning how to deal with it,” McCauley says. “I’m not a teetotaler. I’ve tried that. It’s not for me. I’m not into the support group thing. I enjoy life with a drink. Trying to keep my life in balance can be hard, but it’s something I’m capable of doing now.”   Tricky relationships with drugs and alcohol are addressed in different ways on both volumes. Hushed Vol. 1 closer “Rejection” pulses with vulnerability. “I wrote it about trying to help somebody in some way,” McCauley says. “What was going through my mind but I didn’t say in the lyrics is just reaching your hand out to somebody who’s going through substance abuse problems.” Vol. 2’s “Jumpstarting”—a favorite track of McCauley’s—offers the same kind of lifeline: he shouts startlingly sweet promises over crunchy guitars.   “Look How Clean I Am” immediately follows. Written and sung by O’Neil, the song doesn’t poke fun at sobriety but offers a droll takedown of how some use it as a means or marketing vehicle to further celebrity. It’s one of many genuinely funny moments on the project. Jumping “S.M.F.,” (aka Shitty Music Festival) written and delivered by McCauley, takes hilarious shots at a summer institution. “I thought I’d write that one for any band who’s ever had a bad time at a music festival. It’s one of my attempts at humor on the record, but then it just kind of comes off as anger,” McCauley says with a laugh.   McCauley wrote gorgeous instrumental “Pulse” thinking about the 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting. He lets his piano do the talking. “It’s a Whale” is punk perfection, all screams and growling guitars. “That’s probably the most political I’ll ever get in a song,” McCauley says. “I tried to put myself in the really dark headspace of maybe a men’s rights activist or something like that while trying to poke fun at it.” His chants of “Atta boy! Atta girl!” are the ideal blend of smirk-inducing and scary.   McCauley says he believes “Sea of Clouds” and “It’s a Whale” probably best capture the “extremities” of both records. He’s right, of course: it’s Vol. 1’s quiet vs. Vol. 2’s loud—Deer Tick’s dual personalities, finally channeled onto two distinct and equally brilliant records. “These albums represent a new phase of my life that I haven’t entirely figured out yet,” McCauley says. “I don’t really know what’s going to happen, but that’s part of the excitement for me.”

JAWNY FRI . OCT 13 , 2023 DOORS: 7 PM / SHOW: 8 PM $20 ADV | $25 DOS Too much thinking can get in the way of good art. That’s the philosophy that indie singer/songwriter JAWNY has embraced even under the pressure of recording his debut album, It’s Never Fair, Always True. JAWNY has built his career by intuition, letting his music evolve naturally as he grows personally. Instead of chasing the high of past successes — including his 2019 US Gold and Mexico Diamond-certified hit, “Honeypie” — he’s followed his gut and tapped into a new vision that reflects his growth over the years. Even as he embraces a “first thought, best thought” approach to making music, his songs have grown in scope and scale — elevating him from songwriter to indie-pop auteur with a kaleidoscopic vision and rich sense of narrative that informs everything he does. On It’s Never Fair, Always True JAWNY tackles a familiar storyline: a boy falls madly in love, eventually loses that love, then quickly spirals downward. The doomed tale unfolds with breezy guitar-pop that gradually builds into sweeping lovelorn reveries, a thrilling multi-part finale and a blistering feature from Grammy winning legend Beck. The album has received praise from the media with NME giving the album four stars stating, “The McCartney-esque piano tune ‘Fall In Love’ shows there’s more to Jawny than catchy alt-pop as he adds depth to his sound with a triumphant string section,” and Music Connection noting the album “closer “Selfish Hate” is Jawny’s most ambitious opus at eight minutes, a sad stoner’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” “I’m old enough to feel old, but young enough to die alone…,” these opening lines of “Everything” serve as a mission statement from a more sophisticated, mature singer. Each release has added new wrinkles to JAWNY’s already ornate sound — which helped him grow from a maker of pristine pop songs to a thoughtful songwriter with his eyes on intricate stories and life’s big questions. All the while, he’s never lost touch with the technicolor melodies that fans fell in love with in the first place, but as he’s prepared for his debut album, he’s learned to write with real empathy and depth — the mark of a songwriter who remains more wise and gifted than his years suggest. But still, even as he proves himself capable of ambitious arrangements and his audience proves they’re able to keep up with him at every unpredictable turn, JAWNY remained steadfastly in the moment as he worked on It’s Never Fair, Always True. “I just chased whatever felt right that day,” he says. “I can’t overthink it.” The result is a whimsical, wild rush of a debut that traces all the twists and turns of life and love in its purest moments. As its title suggests, the album is honest and real — a record that captures how JAWNY feels right now, while, importantly, staying connected to every step of the journey that brought him here. “I feel like I made my dream album that I wish I had the ability to make when I was 17,” he says. “But I’m just a giant child at heart, and I never wanna lose that. Otherwise, what’s the fucking point?” In support of his debut album JAWNY has been on the road for The It’s Never Fair, Always True tour which has included stops in Los Angeles, New York (two shows), Chicago and more. Born in the Bay Area, and raised in Philadelphia, JAWNY first picked up a guitar at age 6 after watching his dad jam to the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin. At 13, he began making beats with his brother, eventually landing placements with rappers on SoundCloud. In his early 20s, he began writing his own songs, and started to gain buzz with his 2018 debut EP under the name Johnny Utah, landing placements on critically acclaimed shows like the HBO series, High Maintenance. JAWNY followed that up with a handful of buzzworthy singles, including Honeypie, that landed on a number of tastemaker playlists and garnered millions of streams. In 2020, JAWNY signed to Interscope Records and soon released a pair of vibrant, critically acclaimed projects, For Abby and The Story of Hugo, which further showcased his sharp storytelling and sonic experimentation and put him front & center on a number of notable playlist covers around the world and as a Vevo DSCVR Artists To Watch.

Boy Named Banjo w/ Brother Elsey Thu . Oct 19 , 2023 DOORS: 7 PM / SHOW: 8 PM $20 ADV | $25 DOS Writer: Cindy Watts In a time when the popular choice is to chase the double yellow line down the road to country radio, Boy Named Banjo thrives on its fringes. The Nashville-raised five-piece is a fusion of contemporary country, Americana and folk-rock stacked on a foundation of bluegrass. “We’re trying to find our own niche within popular country music today,” says Sam McCullough (drums). “But not straight down the middle.” The band, which has been together in some iteration since members were in high school, is comprised of Barton Davies (banjo), Ford Garrard (bass/standing bass), Sam McCullough (drums) Willard Logan (mandolin, acoustic/electric guitar) and William Reames (acoustic guitar/harmonica). William and Willard played in a middle school garage rock band together, but it wasn’t until William met Barton in high school English class that Boy Named Banjo started to take shape. Barton had just started playing banjo when he heard William listening to bluegrass music. He suggested they jam together, which led to them asking Willard to join them. The guys started playing music on the streets of downtown Nashville, which is where the name “Boy Named Banjo” was created, outside of the famed Robert’s Western World. While playing, a man walked by and yelled to Barton “Play that banjo boy!”  Later that night William came up with the name Boy Named Banjo, which has stuck ever since. Ford started playing bass when he was 13 years old, and he, Willard, William and Barton shared a guitar teacher. They played a couple of shows together in high school, but it wasn’t until after college that Ford and Sam joined the band and together the five guys formed the band Boy Named Banjo that we know today.  “I was like, ‘I don’t think you need a drummer because you’re a bluegrass band, but I’ll be your drummer if you want me to be,’” Sam recalls. “They were like, ‘Hell yeah, let’s do it.’” That was the summer of 2013, and the addition of the bass and drums immediately started to evolve the group’s sound from its rootsy, string band feel into something more commercial. Not only did the band continue to steadily release music independently, releasing two albums and an EP, the band developed its one-of-a-kind live show over the years until it attracted Mercury Records Nashville’s attention in 2019. Boy Named Banjo had just launched their most extensive headlining tour to date when the pandemic commanded them to drive the 36 hours from Portland, Oregon, back to Nashville and put their lives on hold for the next 18 months. They became the first act that Universal Music Group Nashville signed via Zoom about two weeks later. “We’re a very live-driven band,” William said. “We love to play live. We love for people just to have a great time. We also have a lot of banjo solos and electric guitar. I feel like our music is an escape from everyday life. You come to a show, and we have a little bit of something for everyone.” While the pause wasn’t what anyone planned, Boy Named Banjo released their debut EP, Circles,in summer of 2021. The collection includes seven tracks co-written by members of the band including the compassionate “Go Out Dancing,” which the band says takes on a much larger meaning post pandemic thinking “if it really was ending” what would we do? They used the time to write songs and hone in on their sound with writer/producer Oscar Charles (Carly Pearce, Charlie Worsham, Elvie Shane). With a catalogue of songs to choose from, and recent time spent in the studio, the guys are deciding what to run with next. “They built themselves into something great and Nashville noticed. These guys are realer than the real deal,” says Charles. “The pause was tough touring wise because that’s where we really thrive is on the road,” William said. “If people haven’t heard us, they seem to get it when they see us live. That’s a huge aspect of what we do, so figuring out how to capture our live sound in the studio is tricky. But that time allowed us to figure that out a little bit.” Until now, members say, they were finding their way through their “musical adolescence.” “We have a special chemistry together,” Barton said. “I think we’re really just starting to know what Boy Named Banjo sounds like from here on out,” Sam said. The band is currently out on the road playing some of country music’s largest festivals including Dierks Bentley’s Seven Peaks, Country Jam, and they recently made their CMA Fest debut playing at the Ascend Amphitheatre Nighttime Concert. They head out on the road this fall as direct support to multi-PLATINUM singer/songwriter, Kip Moore on his Fire on Wheels Tour.

Corey Smith w/ Special Guest Jeb Gipson Sat . Dec 30 , 2023 DOORS: 7 PM / SHOW: 8 PM $27.50 ADV | $30 DOS Smith has amassed an unfailingly devout fan base, not only in his native Southeast region, but all around the nation, simply by telling it the way it is.  He has released 10 albums—including 2011’s Top 20 release “The Broken Record”.  Corey has written every word on every album and has produced 9 out of 10 of the records. In Summer 2015, Corey teamed up with producer Keith Stegall (Alan Jackson, Zac Brown Band) for his album, “While the Gettin’ Is Good,” released on Sugar Hill Records.  Smith’s concerts, which were documented on his last live record, “Live in Chattanooga”, regularly sell out, with audiences singing along to such fan favorites as the coming-of-age anthem “Twenty-One,” the nostalgic time warp “If I Could Do It Again” and the group hug “I Love Everyone”.  Corey has a consistent touring history, usually hitting around 120 dates per year, but recently has taken a pause form touring to undergo a risky eye surgery.  During his time at home, Corey has begun releasing solo acoustic tracks every week, directly to his devoted fan base via his YouTube series Songsmith Weekly and all music streaming platforms.  These tracks, such as “Cellophane”, “Where I Wish I Was” and “Going Blind” have re-energized his fan base.  Corey is planning in compiling these releases in a more traditional album format later this year and is currently on tour.

Hannah Wicklund Hannah Wicklund has been traveling fast and far, playing big cities and small towns around the world since starting her band at 8 years old. With her new album, Produced by Sam Kiszka, she is now arriving somewhere completely unexpected. Ethereal texturing, smokey falsetto vocals, string section surprises and guitar solos that carry equal parts pain and joy are woven tastefully into what Wicklund says is , “A record that just sounds like me”. Much like Hannah’s paintings she has become known for, each song is intricately entrancing and honored with two things seemingly lost in today’s world….patience and time. With Sam Kiszka on bass/keys/organ and Danny Wagner on drums, both of Greta Van Fleet, the songs serve as a rock ’n’ roll roadmap to a crossroads that Wicklund has been unknowingly gravitating towards for well over a decade. X marks the spot where the weary girl speeding towards the woman she will become meet in a fiery head-on collision. On this album, we hear from the woman rising from that wreckage. The woman who’s scarred but smarter, holds compassion for the girl who carried her here, and with wide-open clear eyes, unflinchingly stares down the future.   Indeed, The Prize is a beautiful representation of what raw feminine power and determination look, feel and sound like. Carved with pain during the most wounded and fragile point in our young heroine’s life, this record is for anyone that has ever had to look inward to move onward. “This album was so radically healing for me, and I hope it can inspire and perhaps play a role in someone else’s story” says Wicklund. “I want us all to remember, it can be lonely and is never easy ‘doing the work’, but we are each worthy of our own love, time, and dedication.”

STEEL PANTHER TUE . JUL 25 , 2023 DOORS: 7 PM / SHOW: 8 PM $30 ADV | $35 DOS For the uninitiated, Steel Panther was formed in 2000. Hailing from Los Angeles, the epicenter for rock n’ roll in all its debauchery and glamour, Steel Panther has established themselves as the world’s premier party band, melding hard rock virtuosity with parody and criminally good looks. Steel Panther is a global phenomenon with four full-length albums, touring across the world, platinum-level You Tube status and high-profile television appearances such as Jimmy Kimmel Live, Larry King Now, and FOX NFL Sunday. Rolling Stone avowed, “There’s a reason Steel Panther have transcended their origins as a cover band playing the Sunset Strip,” while Metal Sucks declared, Steel Panther’s concept is genius…their songwriting is…preposterously snappy – and relatable.”

PROF - The Workhorse Tour DOORS: 7 PM / SHOW: 8 PM ADV: $25 | DOS: $28 With lyrical skill matched only by his raucous live shows, Prof has arrived on the national stage. Coming out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Prof has perfected the art of combining blue collar hard work and unimpeachable content with never taking himself too seriously. His seventh studio album, Horse, due out on his own Stophouse Music Group label April 14, 2023, is set to let the world at large in on a secret that music fans already know, Prof is a force to be reckoned with. His most recent album, Powderhorn Suites, shocked pundits and industry alike with an amazing run through the charts and streaming platforms. Released in November, 2020, Powderhorn Suites reached a career-high #3 on the Billboard Current Rap Albums charts, #5 Top New Artists Albums, #15 Independent Album, and #36 Billboard Top Albums. What followed has been a masterclass in making it as an independent artist; Prof leaned into the fantastical tales and dynamic persona that have cultivated his rabid fan base. He reclaimed his outlets, going from zero Youtube followers to over 160,000 subscribers in under two years. Following the Powderhorn Suites album, Prof notched his biggest year to date in 2022, racking up over 140 Million streams of his catalog and performing 30 sold out shows across the country. Horse is the culmination of his personal Rocky training montage, but you can’t call it a comeback, because Prof’s numbers have only ever gone up. Horse is a powerful record, showcasing his singular drive and the weirdness of real life that has propelled Prof to the pinnacle of the independent rap music world, bringing his legions of “Gampos”, as his fans are affectionately known, alongside him. Horse’s 14 tracks include a heavyweight cast of features, from Method Man on “Subpar”, to Kevin Gates’ big sound gracing “Devils Gate”, and a brilliant appearance from Redman on “Pack a Lunch”. Prof’s contemporaries have clearly noticed the ever growing Gampo movement bursting out of the Twin Cities. Cozz and Mac Irv also appear on the album, which was produced by Prof alongside a small cadre of close collaborators. Prof will follow up the release of Horse with a XX city headline tour, hitting marquee live music venues like YY and ZZ, along with some key festival appearances. Riding life sized carpets over his massive crowds and leaving it all on the stage, Prof’s live shows have always been more than a concert, they are an experience. As the audiences grow and his production evolves, Prof has moved from survival mode to takeover mode, and one thing is for sure, Prof thrives on the biggest stage.

TOKEN THU . FEB 2 , 2023 DOORS: 7 PM / SHOW: 8 PM $22 ADV | $25 DOS Confidence can’t be given. Instead, it’s earned. Through a prolific, albeit quiet grind, Token has morphed into an outlier in hip-hop. Powered by razor sharp wordplay, head-spinning verbal acrobatics, and off-kilter hooks, the Massachusetts born rapper evolves at a dizzying pace. After amassing hundreds of millions of YouTube views and streams independently and receiving acclaim from The Boston Globe, XXL, Complex, and more, he leaps forward again on his 2022 project Pink Is Better—the first album released under his own label Never Too Different and Atlantic Records. “At first, I was trying to do everything to impress people. This is the first time where I’m doing the music that inspires me. I’ve now become my own person, and I’m confident I can make it as far as I want without compromising. I’m inspired by artists who continuously change it up. I’m more tapped into who I truly am. I don’t want to be known for anything other than being me.” Growing up outside of Boston, music anesthetized depression, anxiety, stress, and loneliness throughout his childhood. So, Token put his head down and honed his craft at just 10-years-old, putting in countless hours, recording tracks of his own, burning CDs, and distributing them around Massachusetts. During 2015, his “No Sucka MCs Contest Entry” went viral, eventually exceeding 5.7 million YouTube views. After Token wound up on Mark Wahlberg’s radar, he appeared on the hit television show Wahlburgers and landed a role in the blockbuster Patriots Day. Simultaneously, he lit up Sway in the Morning with a headline-making six minute freestyle. XXL christened it “one of the year’s best freestyles, if not one of the best performances ever on Sway’s legendary show.” On its heels, he dropped his first mixtape Eraser Shavings in 2016 followed by 2018’s Between Somewhere, which vaulted into the Top 5 on the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap Albums Chart. Generating 100 million-plus streams, it also spawned anthems, including “YouTube Rapper” [feat. Tech N9ne], “Household Name,” and “Flamingo.” Not to mention, he sold out shows on multiple continents and contributed music to the Fast & Furious Hobbs & Shaw soundtrack and Scoob! The Album.  Throughout 2020, he carefully assembled what would become Pink Is Better, achieving a sense of personal and creative balance.  “Pink represents balance,” he affirms. “It’s the middle ground of red and white. It’s what I’ve been going through during the last two years. I’m an extreme person. The red side is the fast lifestyle—girls, money, and getting fucked up. The white side represents a white flag, giving in to my emotions, overthinking shit, and feeling defeated. It’s about embracing the life that’s been given to me in a healthy way rather than living all the way on one side or the other.” Following “Chit Chat” and “Sip,” the single “High Heels” [feat. Rico Nasty] illuminates his progression. He leans into the skittering beat as he drops charismatic and catchy bars with no shortage of boastful charm punctuated by a rare Rico Nasty cameo.

Crying in H Mart: A Conversation with Michelle Zauner $35 GA ticket - no book $55 GA ticketing - includes book Join us for an evening in conversation with New York Times Bestselling author and lead vocalist of the alternative pop band Japanese Breakfast, Michelle Zauner, as she celebrates the paperback release of Crying in H Mart, an unforgettable memoir about family, food, grief, love, and growing up Korean American. Food + beverage will be available for purchase from Music Farm and guests will have the opportunity to have a copy of the book signed by Michelle and take photos following the conversation. About Michelle Zauner NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER • From the indie rock sensation known as Japanese Breakfast, an unforgettable memoir about family, food, grief, love, and growing up Korean American. •  “In losing her mother and cooking to bring her back to life, Zauner became herself.” —NPR   In this exquisite story of family, food, grief, and endurance, Michelle Zauner proves herself far more than a dazzling singer, songwriter, and guitarist. With humor and heart, she tells of growing up one of the few Asian American kids at her school in Eugene, Oregon; of struggling with her mother’s particular, high expectations of her; of a painful adolescence; of treasured months spent in her grandmother’s tiny apartment in Seoul, where she and her mother would bond, late at night, over heaping plates of food. As she grew up, moving to the East Coast for college, finding work in the restaurant industry, and performing gigs with her fledgling band–and meeting the man who would become her husband—her Koreanness began to feel ever more distant, even as she found the life she wanted to live. It was her mother’s diagnosis of terminal cancer, when Michelle was twenty-five, that forced a reckoning with her identity and brought her to reclaim the gifts of taste, language, and history her mother had given her. Vivacious and plainspoken, lyrical and honest, Zauner’s voice is as radiantly alive on the page as it is onstage. Rich with intimate anecdotes that will resonate widely, and complete with family photos, Crying in H Mart is a book to cherish, share, and reread. MICHELLE ZAUNER is best known as a singer and guitarist who creates dreamy, shoegaze-inspired indie pop under the name Japanese Breakfast. She has won acclaim from major music outlets around the world for releases like Psychopomp (2016) and Soft Sounds from Another Planet (2017). Her most recent album, Jubilee (2021), earned two GRAMMY nominations for Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album. Her first book, Crying in H Mart, is a New York Times Best Seller. She’s currently adapting the memoir for the screen for MGM’s Orion Pictures.   Michelle’s Socials: IG: @jbrekkie; Twitter: @jbrekkie; FB: @japanesebreakfast
